So here's the deal. Every time I read a blog, I think "Why don't I start blogging?" The motivation differs each time. Some blogs inspire me, others make me laugh, and then there are those "Dear Diary" blogs that I begin virtually red-penciling from the first sentence (that thought process goes something like this: "If someone's actually reading THAT, they might as well read something I write instead...)

Now I'm not a great writer but I do enjoy it. Problem is, writing takes practice. So, since blogging seems to be an effective way to flex those muscles on a consistent basis, I've decided to let go of my perfectionism and JUST DO IT (sorry, Nike...but hey, look, a plug!...)! Letting go of my perfectionism apparently means that I'm starting a blog with no idea what it will contain or even how to do it properly. (Seriously, it just took me 20 minutes to figure out the html code for the above Nike reference).

So, maybe an introduction is in order. I'm a full-time mother of 4, a job and calling that I am privileged to have. My family motivates everything I do, and lately, as my kids have become more self-sufficient, I have more time to call my own. As most moms know, filling the time is never the problem - there's always laundry, dishes, sick kids, decluttering, you name it, it presents itself. But somewhere in the midst of all that, there is time to dream. And time to do.

And so. Today, after feeding the kids their breakfast and before packing up their swim things, I am blogging. Later today, after swimming but before dinner, I will teach piano lessons. Then, after dropping my daughter off at a Brownie activity and before picking her up, I will build my Arbonne business.

Because being a mom doesn't mean you stop dreaming. It means you find time to dream all day long.
